Art Director (digital brand)

Hi, nice to meet you. We're wondering about you, too.

Specifically, we’re hoping that your creativity is only surpassed by your curiosity and that your tenacity comes with a solid helping of a good attitude. That you have at least five years of experience in your field but love to dip your toe into other disciplines and that you live in Portland Ore.

We’re looking for an Art Director. Our design team will look to you for inspiration; and you'll help us create super-consistent, memorable design experiences, and campaigns for world-class brands. Your design chops had better be killer as should your communication and strategic skills. Our design team will look to you for process, tools, and guidance so that they can be hyper-amazing, too. You ought to have some charisma because this role is super hands-on.

Skills and Requirements:

  • Ability to pitch, educate, and define your design rationale to clients. You can articulate the ‘why’ and lead discussions around your process, explorations, and conclusions.
  • A solid portfolio of product work that can speak to both your UX and visual design skills.
  • Prototyping and interaction design experience
  • Clear and open communication skills. You can articulate feedback to help your teammates become stronger designers.
  • Ability to translate stakeholder goals, user research, and complex user flows into clean, usable UIs.
  • A solid and up-to-date understanding of best practices, developments and trends in web, mobile and iOS design.
  • Egoless and objective. You receive feedback well and can iterate on your designs, no matter how attached to them you are.
  • Strong knowledge of UX principles and best practices, including understanding when and where user testing and research should be incorporated into the product design process.

That’s a lot to ask. But we have a lot to offer.

  • Competitive salary
  • Full medical, dental, and vision benefits package
  • Retirement plan
  • Paid holidays and vacation
  • Opportunities to make a difference in a small, highly productive environment
  • Access to amazing creative projects with clients such as Google, Indeed, Asana, Evernote, VSCO, and FiftyThree
  • And more
